Covid Update -
17th September - Cancelled due to Covid-19 |
|
Hello all Convention attendees
It is with great regret that we must cancel the 2021 Ultimate Ford
National Mustang Convention.
We had been closely following the status of Covid 19 and the
Levels of restriction that we find ourselves in. We have been
regularly working possible scenarios and the likelihood that
everyone will get to a Level that will enable the Convention to go
ahead.
While we have put a lot of time, effort, and money into convention
preparation, we are also mindful that those planning to attend need
certainty with their travel arrangements, especially those looking
to travel up and cross the ditch from the South Island. Such travel
is no small undertaking and we have been heartened by the very large
number of registrations that we have received from all clubs.
It is only fair that we respect that commitment and give as much
notice as possible of any cancellation to allow for changes to be
made to travel plans. Following recent announcements including the
Prime Ministers announcement yesterday giving details of how the
government anticipates progression down to Level 1, and without
knowing exactly how the situation will evolve, it appears very
unlikely that we will be in a position to enable the Convention to
go ahead. Consequently, we have made the hard decision and cancelled
this year’s convention. Doing so today means that we will be
refunding all registration and shirt moneys in full.
We are very appreciative of the huge support that all clubs have
shown us leading up to this year’s event. We believe that we had a
programme in place that was worthy of that support.
We now start the task of cancelling everything and starting the
refund process. Please bear with us as we work though this process;
refunds will be processed in batches.
This is not the outcome that we wanted and while we apologise for
inconvenience it is a decision that has been forced upon us. A
postponement was not possible due to the limited number of venue
options available and their being booked 2-3 years ahead. We now
hope that Taranaki does not have to go through the same anguish as
we wish them well for 2022.
Again, we thank you for your support, we have been humbled by the
generosity of spirit shown to us.
Kind Regards
Grant Robb

Covid Update -
18th August |
|
Hi All,
We have been considering the possibility of Covid raising its head
again at some stage during our preparations and have been planning
accordingly. At this stage, we are just holding tight until we see
what way it will jump. In a week's time it may have been a storm in
a teacup. The time for making big decisions is not upon us yet and
if we do get to that point, we will be quick to communicate with you
all.
For now it is all business as usual and we are looking forward to
seeing you at Labour Weekend.
Cheers,
Margaret |

Mount Safari -
Partners Programme |
|
Following on from CMOC’s great Partners Programme
last year, we are proud to offer our Mount Safari as an alternative
to trailing your other half around the cars at the car show!
We have put together a great day, leaving BayPark at 10.15am on the
Saturday via buses, and we will be taking in the delights of the
Mount, some of which are listed below to whet your appetite:
There are a number of walks and if you choose to do anyone of these,
wear decent enough walking shoes, and only one of them requires a
real degree of fitness. More details on the day.
Cafes and shops abound – you can do plenty of damage to the credit
card here! More information on the day, including a great discount
at Pizza Library Company.
Kewpie Harbour Tours have offered us a 15% discount. Visit
Kewpie Cruises to book, but do use the discount code MUSTANG.
V8 Trikes are also keen to see you. Go to
V8 Trike Tours | V8 Trike Tour Packages to choose one of their
adrenalin filled tours. Discount code is MUSTANG to unlock a 20%
discount. Note – you hire the whole bike so teaming up with others
to share the cost is the way to go.
Mount Hot Pools have also offered us a couple of deals. More about
these on the day, but if you want to visit the pools, remember to
bring your togs.
We will also be Meeting New Mates at the Mount, and there will be a
Scavenger Hunt. We do need numbers so we can have the right number
of buses. There is no cost other than what you choose to spend on
the activities or in the shops and cafes. Please reply to
bopmocconvention@gmail.com to let us know if you would like to
spend this day with us. |

Convention Gold
Sponsors |
|
The Major Sponsors that are supporting the 2021
National Convention are displayed here - to the right. Without this
support these events would not be able to take place and we are very
grateful to have the support of these sponsors, most of whom have
also supported previous conventions. To ensure that they continue to
see value in supporting such events, they need to be supported at
every opportunity. The sponsor logos link to their company websites
that displays their products, services and contact details. Please
don’t hesitate to contact them for your needs and let them know that
you are part of the New Zealand Mustang fraternity. |
