George Sheweiry's 65 Race Car.
The 65 Mustang I built to run in the pre 65 series. It weighed in at 1177kg and featured a roller cam 289 with custom Ross pistons H beam eagle rods and fully ported heads that flowed 441hp, victor manifold and a whopping 750 cfm Dominator Holley.
Clutch was AP triple plate with a lite weight flywheel and and alloy boss 302 bell-housing . Gearbox was close ratio 4 speed top-loader and I used the tin hat Borg Warner diff to keep the weight down.
I won the 1996 and 1997 MANZ Pre 65 championship in this car. I then built a 427 Mercury Cyclone to replace it and sold the Mustang to my old apprentice Michael Oldham who still owns it today
